Classic Doublethink from Climate Change Crusaders

In the past several years climate change crusaders have become even further indoctrinated with the belief that climate change is man made even though there is no “evidence” this is the case.

I personally would love to hear evidence beyond that of Al Gore’s supposed “documentary”. Not only are his claims absolutely false, he also claims there is no real dissenting opinion on this issue. This is categorically false.

In a recent report on senate.gov, 650 scientists from around the globe question man made global warming. Now you might think this sounds like just a few considering it is global. Well, this isn’t the first such list.

So apparently there are a few people who think there isn’t enough evidence for man caused global warming.

Some of the comments on the senate report were pretty interesting, lets take a look at a few:

“Gore prompted me to start delving into the science again and I quickly found myself solidly in the skeptic camp…Climate models can at best be useful for explaining climate changes after the fact.” - Meteorologist Hajo Smit of Holland, who reversed his belief in man-made warming to become a skeptic, is a former member of the Dutch UN IPCC committee.

“Many [scientists] are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined.” - Atmospheric physicist James A. Peden, formerly of the Space Research and Coordination Center in Pittsburgh.

“Earth has cooled since 1998 in defiance of the predictions by the UN-IPCC….The global temperature for 2007 was the coldest in a decade and the coldest of the millennium…which is why ‘global warming’ is now called ‘climate change.’” - Climatologist Dr. Richard Keen of the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Colorado.

President-elect Obama hasn’t been immune to the ignorance spewed from the climate change crusaders either. According to an Associated Press article:

Global warming is accelerating. Time is close to running out, and Obama knows it.

“The time for delay is over; the time for denial is over,” he said on Tuesday after meeting with former Vice President Al Gore, who won a Nobel Peace Prize for his work on global warming. “We all believe what the scientists have been telling us for years now that this is a matter of urgency and national security and it has to be dealt with in a serious way.”

The article goes on to state the following from the author:

Mother Nature, of course, is oblivious to the federal government’s machinations. Ironically, 2008 is on pace to be a slightly cooler year in a steadily rising temperature trend line. Experts say it’s thanks to a La Nina weather variation. While skeptics are already using it as evidence of some kind of cooling trend, it actually illustrates how fast the world is warming.

A cooler year illustrates how fast the world is warming? This level of doublethink almost belongs in 1984. This is a classic example of how people can skew facts to get the result they want. I would love to know how a cold year, illustrates the world is warming. On top of this, he should consider a science and history lesson. As pointed out here and here.

Aside from this article, other alarmists have made even bolder claims, stating:

I would like to say we’re at a point where global warming is impossible to deny. Let’s just say that global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers, though one denies the past and the other denies the present and future.

Impossible to deny? Holocaust deniers? For those who may believe it is impossible to deny, I recommend the following video. Due note I rarely agree with this guy, but on this issue, he hit it spot on:
